<The Great Gatsby>, which was written by Fitzgerald, is more famous in movie that acted by Leonardo Di Caprio than book. Loving one woman for five years and even she became a married woman is hard to do. However, Gatsby did it, and people feel pity to him, and think that Gatsby is a flake man who tried to deny Daisy’s marriage. Even though people say that, they comment that Gatsby’s love was true. Because he continued to love her, even she didn’t wait him. However, at the end, Gatsby couldn’t get her true love, and died. What is d problem that rich Gatsby failed?
Many people want to be a rich man. Gatsby was one of the wealthiest persons who could throw parties every weekend. But, even he was that rich man, he couldn’t achieve his ultimate purpose. What is the reason why he couldn’t do that? First, he tried to deny his past, and he didn’t trie to change future. He would get Daisy’s love if he accepted her marriage and said that he would do well than her husband. Second, Gatsby couldn’t use the time given to him. Third, he illegally earned money and couldn’t hide it.
The first reason why the rich man Gatsby failed is that he lived in the past. He always thought that he was living in a situation when Daisy didn’t marry. So, he told Daisy that she never loved her husband. Although she married her husband because of money, she loved him by living with him. But Gatsby demanded Daisy to deny all the past when she lived with her husband. Daisy might get disbelief in this Gatsby’s act. Gatsby should have accepted their history, and tried to change the future.
Second, Gatsby couldn’t use the time which was given to him. He had five years to think about the way to marry Daisy. It was a good idea to throw parties and attract her to come, but when she came, he did nothing but appeal to feelings. Eventually, Daisy’s husband, Tom, realized something wrong and had time to think about how to separate Gatsby and Daisy. He was so hurried, and that made him every wrong.
Third, it was not a legal way to earn money for Gatsby. At that time, there was a method that people can’t make a drink. But Gatsby illegally made alcohol. Many people were curious about how Gatsby earns that considerable amount of money. Some people doubted his illegal business and made a rumor. If Gatsby was a wise man, he had to make a company that people think he earns money from there.
Gatsby’s decisive fail reason was that he denied the past. Many people said that this book gives us that materialism is not the best, though, but I think different. The real lesson that the author wanted to provide us with is, ‘not to deny the past, and changer that future.’
